Liveable Copenhagen - and the ideas that shaped it (foredrag av Mads Michael Hastrup).

Session 1, May 13th
Why is Copenhagen considered one of the best cities in the world to live in?
In this first session, we seek to line out the mindset that lies behind the concept of ‘Danish Design’ within architecture, urbanism and product design. We will show you how humanistic and democratic values are given concrete form throughout the 20th and into the 21st century. Showing videos from the streets of Copenhagen, we aim to give you a life-like impression of our vibrant city.

Session 2, May 20th
In this 2nd session, we focus on Copenhagen's recent transformation into an international icon designed for the good life, including cycling culture, inclusive urban spaces, sustainability - and spectacular architecture. Through videos and examples of specific buildings and places, we will make you understand the specific qualities of the city, and how the built environment supports everyday life.

Two videos could be included in this teaser.
1) a very brief greeting with the two of us:

2) a long video of a more or less random bike ride to give a very general impression of Copenhagen (and biking). We think of it as a complementary alternative for being here in person:

We're not going to view this video in the sessions, so participants could watch it or some of it before or after.
