Only a year has passed since our Business Swedish and Communication week in Tartu – and already, the next meeting – this time in beautiful Sweden – took place!
In the end of March, students of General Swedish at Tartu University were invited to an intensive cooperation week at Halmstad University.
Halmstad university had set together a wonderful program, featuring morning sessions on Swedish communication and business style, taught by future teachers of Swedish – who were doing their teaching practice “on” us. The afternoon cultural programme included inspiring company visits (e.g. FabLab, Innovation LAB, Catfish) on the campus, as well as in the Halland region (Getinge).
The trip to the beautiful costal areas, seaside landscapes with the famous sands of Tylösand, the “Roxette” hotel and a walk on Prince Bertils Stig, next to flushing waves of the sea and generations of painters´ inspirational famous pale sunshine winded up the successful study trip.
This meeting was special – as we celebrated 10 years of our triple cooperation, where three universities – Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Halmstad University and Tartu University annually meet with their students and teachers of Swedish.
Business Swedish, Nordic communication style, the unwritten dos and don´ts in all of our cultures, as well as supportive and friendly pro-active Nordic way of expressing oneself both in work and casual environments, always putting the individual and personality in the focus, were analysed, discussed and practised.
Thank you, Tampere, and Joni Sallila for the great cooperation idea and arrangement! Thank you, Halmstad, for the wonderful programme and inspiring week together on the sunny Västkusten! And - welcome to our next Swedish groups - our friends in Finland and Sweden are waiting for our continued cooperation already soon again!
Here are some pictures from our business week in Sweden.
We are most grateful to the Nordplus programme for the travel support, as well as the Swedish Institute and the Sweden Estonia Cooperation Fund for their kind support to students substinence and loging.
