13. jaanuaril kell 16.00 kaitseb Antonina Martynenko vene kirjanduse erialal doktoritööd „Традиции и инновации в русской поэзии второй половины 1830-х гг.: количественное исследование“ („Traditsioonid ja uuendused 1830. aastate teise poole vene luules: kvantitatiivne uurimus“).

29. novembril kell 12.15 kaitseb Ülo Siirak doktoritööd „Humaniste français Marc-Antoine Muret comme commentateur de Catulle et de Pierre de Ronsard“ („Prantsuse humanist Marc-Antoine Muret Catulluse ja Pierre de Ronsard’i kommenteerijana“).

In the summer, two large book donations were made to the University of Tartu Library, adding to its existing collection of books on the classical and early modern periods.
