Nominations for the Estonian Science Communication Awards can be submitted to the Estonian Research Council (ETAG) until 15 September. The competition aims to recognise outstanding and active science communicators as well as innovative initiatives that promote science to wider audiences.
In the next academic year, the professorship of liberal arts at the University of Tartu will be held by one of the most distinctive creators of audiovisual works in Estonia, the film director, stage director and screenwriter Rainer Sarnet.

On 11 February, the University of Tartu Library hosts the Estonian Doctoral School’s career conference “The value of a doctoral degree on the job market” where top professionals with a doctoral degree and current doctoral students discuss the added value of doctoral studies.

29. novembril kell 12.15 kaitseb Ülo Siirak doktoritööd „Humaniste français Marc-Antoine Muret comme commentateur de Catulle et de Pierre de Ronsard“ („Prantsuse humanist Marc-Antoine Muret Catulluse ja Pierre de Ronsard’i kommenteerijana“).
From 29 January to 2 February, the international winter school "Survivance and Survival: Theory and Method" will focus on the question of the survival of humanity by looking at it from the perspective of the humanities.
