Register as a visiting student from an Estonian university

If you are a student at one of the following institutions you can participate in our courses as a visiting student:

• Institute of Theology of the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church
• Estonian University of Life Sciences
• Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre
• Estonian Academy of Arts
• Estonian Aviation Academy
• Estonian National Defence College
• Tartu Theological Seminary
• Tallinn University of Technology
• University of Tallinn
• Tartu Art College
• Estonian Information Technology College

These institutions and the University of Tartu have concluded a respective agreement. Students from other higher education institutions can also participate in language courses, but they need to pay for their studies according to the cost of the credit point.

To become a visiting student, you should start by consulting with the coordinator at your university. Each partner institution has their own respective application forms and requirements for visiting students.

If you want to become a visiting student, remember that your visiting student status must have a purpose: to study something that would supplement your studies at your university. For that, you will need to communicate with both the University of Tartu and your university.

Once you are registered as a visiting student, you will get access to the University of Tartu study information system (SIS) where you can register for the courses. The username and password will be sent to the e-mail you marked on your application. If you have previously studied at the University of Tartu as a visiting student, the old username and password will be activated and you will not receive new ones. You will get access to SIS from the first day of the respective semester.

Please note that submitting the application will not automatically mean you are registered for the course(s)! All visiting students can register for courses in SIS for two weeks from the beginning of the semester. 

By becoming a visiting student, you must also take into consideration the obligations and rights of the students at the University of Tartu.
