On 11-12 October 2025, the University of Tartu hosts the 11th International Tartu Conference on Canadian studies. The theme of this year’s conference is “Water”.

International Conference on Ancient Migrations and Cultural Exchange to be held in Tartu

The winner of the three rectors’ scholarship competition, which was held for the eighth time this year, is Arnita Agrita Umalas, who was born and raised in Latvia but is studying Estonian language and linguistics at the University of Tartu, focusing on the Livonian language in her master’s thesis.

Undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students from universities in the Baltic countries, including the University of Tartu, are invited to an international student conference ”Bridges in the Baltics“, held at the University of Latvia in Riga from 9 to 10 October 2025. Conference abstracts can be sent until 30 June 2025.

The University of Tartu invites international students interested in English-taught curricula to submit their applications in DreamApply.

On 13 February, Professor Kendra Willson from the Silesian University will give a talk on the topic "Runic inscriptions from Poland in archaeology and imagination".

International students can apply to the master's programme in European Languages and Cultures at the University of Tartu. Tuition is free for EU/EEA/Swiss citizens and permanent residents. The applications are due on 15 March 2026.
