Apply for the European Languages and Cultures MA programme until 15 March

To apply, a motivation letter and an essay or a translated text on a given topic must be submitted together with the application in DreamApply. Applicants do not need a bachelor's degree at the time of application. Therefore, students who will graduate in the summer of 2024 can also apply.

Applicants to the master's programme in European Languages and Cultures can choose between seven specialisations.

When applying for the specialisations of English language and literature, Russian and Slavic philology, French language and literature, Spanish language and literature, German language and literature, or Scandinavian languages and cultures, applicants must submit an essay on a given topic. The essay has to be written in the language of the specialisation. The essay must be submitted with the motivation letter and the DreamApply application by 15 March.

To apply for the specialisation of Classical Philology, a written annotated translation of a Latin or ancient Greek text fragment into Estonian must be submitted. The translation must be submitted with the DreamApply application by 15 March.

Essay topics and text fragments for translation can be found on the admissions page of the European Languages and Cultures curriculum under admission requirements.

The applicants also take a separate oral exam for the specialisation they are applying for. The exam takes place in the form of an interview in a language corresponding to the specialisation, and in the case of classical philology, in Estonian. The exact time of the oral exam will be agreed upon with each applicant at the beginning of April and will be conducted online.
