Department of Translation Studies

The Department of Translation Studies combines both translation training and translation research. Our Master's programme is part of the prestigious international network European Master's in Translation, which gives graduates the certainty that they will have the best possible starting position as translators, cultural mediators and linguists when entering the translation market.

For translators already working in the field or adults interested in translating, we offer continuing education programmes in translation. The department's main areas of research are related to translation as a cultural transfer, e.g. translation of national and cultural images, the role of translation in journalism, translation policy, translation sociology, as well as terminology work.

More information regarding studies, continuing education programmes and research projects is available on the department's Estonian homepage.
