English language and literature students started "The Bard's Book Club"

This autumn, English language and literature students at the University of Tartu are starting a book club called The Bard’s Book Club. The main focus will be on literature related to English-speaking cultures, and the discussions will be held in English.

Library

The library is open Mon–Thur at 10.00–17.00 and on Fri at 10.00–16.00.

Deadlines can be extended in the ESTER system or by writing to keeled.raamatukogu@ut.ee.

The Insitute of Foreign Languages and Cultures was formed on the 1st of January 2015 by joining the Institute of Germanic, Romance and Slavonic Languages and Literatures and the Language Centre. As a result, a new library was also created to unite the books and other items of all the former small subject libraries.

The Institute of Foreign Languages and Cultures has a large selection of various literature and publications. In addition to linguistics and literary studies, there is also a good selection of dictionaries, lexicons, fiction and various items on history, philosophy, religion, geography, and didactics.

All the books are available in the online catalogue ESTER. Visitors can borrow books with the UT library reader card or with their Estonian ID-card.

Our history

The University of Tartu Institute of Foreign Languages ​​and Cultures library was created on 1 January 2015 by merging the Institute of Germanic, Romance and Slavic Philology and the Language Center. As a result, a new and large specialized library was formed, which brought together the previous seven smaller specialized libraries.
