The interdepartmental book club is held monthly and organized by the student representatives of the Institute of World Languages and Cultures. The institute's various departments often operate separately, so the goal of the book club is to bring together students and faculty from different philology fields.

Each month, a book from one of the institute's departments is selected for reading, allowing participants to explore languages and cultures they might not otherwise encounter. The only requirement is that the book must be translated into English so that all interested participants can join the discussion. Tea, coffee, and snacks will be provided during the discussions.

In the 2025 spring semester, we will be discussing the following books:

  • February 27 - Vanessa Springora, Consent (2020)
  • March 27 - Jon Fosse, Aliss at the Fire (2004)
  • April 24 - Julio Llamazares, The Yellow Rain (1988)
  • May 29 - Marina Lewycka, A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian (2005)

Book club meetings start at 6:15 PM in the foyer of the Lossi 3 building. We welcome all book lovers!
