This November, the Department of Scandinavian Studies will celebrate Gustav Adolf's Day for the 15th time. The academic-cultural event consists of two parts.
From 3 to 4 November 2024, a symposium on "Trust – Nordic Values and the Baltic Countries 1991–2024" will be held at the main hall of Lossi 3. On 4 November, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., everyone interested is invited to a cultural part where music and poetry from the time of Gustav II Adolf will be performed.
The Department of Scandinavian Studies has been celebrating the day dedicated to the King of Sweden and the founder of the Estonian National University, Gustav II Adolf, since 2010. The event's purpose has been to promote and develop Swedish-Estonian relations, which are based on their shared history and interests.
