AI inspiration week

AI in Academic Writing

In October 2024, the University of Tartu hosted an inspiration week on AI in higher education. The keynote speaker was Associate Professor Annette Vee from the University of Pittsburgh who talked about the dangers and opportunities of using artificial intelligence in the context of academic writing and teaching. The recording of her presentation is available here. During her stay, she also gave an interview to Estonian Public Broadcasting (ERR) research news portal Novaator, stating that writing a scientific article cannot be entrusted to an artificial intelligence just yet. Inspired by her trip to Estonia, she also wrote a post on AI and small languages.
