The University of Tartu in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain will host a talk with a prestigious American editor, writer and translator Valerie Miles on Monday, November 7th, at 4 pm.
Valerie Miles is the co-creator of the Spanish-language version of the British famous literary magazine Granta. Miles teaches translation and creative writing at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and has contributed to the New York Times, the New Yorker, El País and Paris Review.
The talk will focus on the 2021 Granta issue: Best of Spanish-Language Novelists, an outstanding selection of the most striking 25 young novelists writing in Spanish today around the World that Valerie Miles curated. Topics such as contemporary fiction, new genres, women's literary voices and translation will also be addressed. It will be a fascinating evening for anyone interested in literature today.
