Three Rectors' Scholarship for Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian language speakers is waiting for candidates

The annual Three Rectors' Scholarship competition for Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian speakers is already taking place for the sixth time. The winner will receive a scholarship of 2000 euros and you can apply until January 31, 2023.

In the autumn of 2017, the rectors of the Universities of Tartu, Latvia and Vilnius announced a joint scholarship competition to promote the teaching and learning of Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian languages and culture. All students studying full-time at the University of Tartu, Latvia and Vilnius who speak one of the languages of the Baltic countries at level C1 and other languages at level A2 are invited to apply. Students studying in all study programs and study levels can apply.

The amount of the scholarship is 2000 euros and candidates are evaluated in three rounds.

In the first or local written round, three texts must be submitted in writing: one in Lithuanian, one in Latvian and one in Estonian. The deadline for submitting these is January 31, 2023. You can find the topics of the essays on the scholarship website.

Contest entries must be submitted to the UT College of Foreign Languages and Cultures email address keeled@ut.ee with the keyword "Three Rector's Scholarship".

Participants will be notified of the results of the local written round by email. If the participants are selected for the oral round, they will receive the requirements for the new round.

The top three students from each university will participate in the final round. This academic year, the final round will take place in Vilnius. The travel and accommodation costs of students who have reached the final round will be covered, the date and place will be specified as soon as possible.
